​Since 2013, Professor Além-Mar Bernardes Gonçalves is an Adjunct Professor at the Physics Institute of the Universidade Federal do Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS). Bachelor (2006), Master (2008) and Doctor (2012) in Physics from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) with an exchange doctorate period at Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA. Experienced in Physics with emphasis on Condensed Matter Physics, acting mainly on the following topics: growth of semiconductor oxide nanostructures, graphite epitaxial and CVD, nano-devices. Currently working with growth research and nanostructures characterization (ZnO, CuO, graphene monolayers and MoS2, etc.) for applications in photodegradation, sensors and photovoltaic devices. Biomaterials involving graphene and graphene oxide is also part of its work. Working on the dissemination and popularization of science, coordinating a collection of physics demonstrations (DemoPhysics) with focus on enriching undergraduate classes and disseminating of science; published several works on the use of microcontrollers (Arduino) in the manufacture of low-cost experimental. Regarding management, he is currently the coordinator of the Bachelor and Degree courses in Physics at UFMS.
